The University of Regina women’s curling team defeated Saint Mary’s University 6-5 in extra ends on Sunday to finish first at the CIS/CCA university curling nationals in Edmonton.

Brooklyn Lemon is the team’s skip and is backed by third Chelsey Peterson, second Ashley Green, and lead Nicole Lang.

The team will represent Canada at the 2011 Winter Universiade in Ezurum, running from Jan. 27 – Feb. 6.
